Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked beef. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Stir in the taco seasoning mix and follow the package instructions. Typically, you'll need to add water and simmer until the mixture thickens.
- On a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips in an even layer.
- Heat the tortilla chips first on their own for 5 mins then layer with cheese and let melt. This layer helps prevent soggy chips!
- Spoon the seasoned mince over the chips.
- Sprinkle a top layer of the 2 cheeses.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and add your favourite toppings, such as salsa, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, black olives, and green onions.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious beef nachos!
